***OVERVIEW***

In this first of a five-part video series, How To Become A Wedding Photographer, I’m going to share with you a bit of background info about myself and my wedding photography business – Aevitas Weddings.

After working in the industry for more than a decade and shooting over 400 weddings in all settings, styles, cultures, and faiths, I’ve built a reputation as one of the most reviewed and highest rated wedding photographers in Southern California.

But more importantly, I’m going to lay the foundation for helping you become a wedding photographer and share with you some of the secrets of success.

Firstly, there are a few things you should know before taking the plunge and becoming a wedding photographer.

Most importantly is that it takes time, not only developing your photography and editing skills but also learning how to brand and market your business to get inquiries and bookings.

There’s no magic formula for overnight success but rather hard work and dedication over many years.

Establishing a successful wedding photography business also requires some level of investment, anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

You need to buy high-quality equipment, educate yourself and pay for advertising to market your business. But if you invest your money well in the early stages of your business, it will reward you in the long-term future.

We’ll also chat about the commitment and dedication that’s required to see results and the sacrifices you may have to make in other aspects of your life.

With the market completely saturated with wedding photographers, it’s more difficult than ever to sustain success but that’s not to say you can’t find ways to stand out from the crowd and book weddings.

This five-part video series on how to become a wedding photographer is going to address each of the three stages of establishing a successful business – create, build and sustain.

After creating a website and buying the gear, how can you build momentum and market your business in a way that leads to inquiries and bookings?

Then once you’ve built your business, how do you sustain that success to a point where you can perhaps leave your conventional job or achieve the financial goals you set for yourself?

I’m going to clearly explain my A to Z of wedding photography so you have clarity on what stage you’re at in your wedding photography business and what are the obstacles that are stopping you from taking the next step.

Currently in the create phase and i'm wanting to know how to get work as a 2nd shooter in the UK, biggest obstacle is how to sell myself if i only have examples of work that doesn't relate to wedding photography.
