Hello, Great review! I just purchased this camera and I'm totally in over my head. I've never owned a digital camera. I purchased it to create high quality photos, content, and videos for my online business. The user guide is not helping much. Any suggestions on how I can get hands on help? Thanks!

Awesome! I heard that you are bit of more technical. I am trying to buy my first camera and a trip is planned after 10 days. Since morning I have been checking all reviews. I am looking for a lightweight camera which can be used for travel + youtube vlogging. Earlier I selected Canon g7x but it does not have external mic support. Can you suggest me a good compact camera with the same. (interchangeble lens would be an added benefit) I am open to both Canon and Sony. Any advise would be appreciated for a travel enthusiast like me and my girl. Thanks!?

why does canon put a hot shoe mount on the camera if you can't actually USE an external microphone?!?!?!?!

hi bro, choose which canon g3x or canon g5x?

Your review was great but that camera sucks yo. I need something that I can make a film with. I'm more focused on a personal documentary where I will be shooting vlog like video, time lapse, moving subjects like cars but I would mainly be focusing on still video that I can speak to my advance with. However, I've found that there is a lot of image distortion. I need a camera that is fare and can raise my video quality with a external mic input and allow me to have wide image with stabilizer. Could you recommend one all around camera like that. I really don't need my camera for images.

Not external micro sucks. The audio won't be the best.

I am not sure whether a mk ii of the g5x is on the horizon. But with the g7x ii I would really like to have your comparison between these two for vlogging and filming…

Nice video. Quick question – would you still prefer the G5X over G7X-II for travel/landscape photography? Thanks!

  21. DustyCowdog says

Thanks for the video and thanks for not editing the video with two-thousand jump-cuts because they can't complete a sentence. Nice job.

  22. Joshua Pingley says

Great review! You just swayed my decision to order a G5x, instead of waiting for the G7x MKII (which honestly hasn't impressed me all that much over the original) to become available. Thanks for posting!
