I have the S7 Edge and I can use its Pro mode to achieve quality images that I've also exhibited.
The current crop of smartphones won't (yet) replace our DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. However they are holding their own and need to be considered.

90% of the photos of my 2-year-old daughter is blurry(in auto and sports mode). Don't buy this phone for the camera, if you take photos of fast-moving subjects. Don't believe in marketing gimmick. The camera is mediocre.
