Still photos are great–until you’re trying to capture action.

Creating a speed / motion effect in a still photo is one of the most under-used techniques in the average photographer’s collection of tricks. And although it takes a little practice, I think you’ll find it adds a nice new dimension to your portfolio and gives a nice variety to your typical trip photos.

In this video I’ll show you the quickest way to create this blurred background effect with your own photos and show you how I’ve applied it to my own work in the field (2 minutes, 8 seconds).
