A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.
Leaving aside the off-putting voice in this video overview, why is this plugin so very expensive? Currently Imagenomic's "Portraiture" – now called "Video Suite" – is priced around $399 USD (this represents over $500 in Australian dollars!). The publicity for Imagenomic boasts this plugin has "unmatched skin smoothing, healing, and enhancing effects with RealEffects' toning and coloring". This may be so, but nothing in the vendor's advertising demonstrates they offer anything other than can be found in the less expensive Sapphire '"Beauty".
Indeed there are other video skin resurface plugins on the market, including Digital Anarchy's "Beauty Box", "Beauty" and "Cosmo II". To summarise, "Beauty Box" is one of the oldest, with "Beauty" and Red Giant's "Cosmo II" being newer contenders. "Beauty" comes bundled in Genarts' Sapphire Suite (now owned by Boris FX). This is a superb plugin that can be used to mask almost any area of colour, and modify its hue and softness values. In any case, given the stiff competition in this market, I see no reason why Imagenomic charge an exorbitant amount for their "Video Suite" video plugin.
very nice! I've used Portraiture in photoshop for many years so good to see there is now a version for PP. also good performance on the computer as to being efficient. better than the competition by far.
