(Just getting over a cold which you might notice on the voiceover ^_^”) Here’s a quick and easy back to school DIY that you can use in art class or to decorate your notebooks when you’re bored! I came across some bubble drawing tutorials on YT and was fascinated by how cool they looked. However in most of the videos, there wasn’t a clear explanation of exactly where or how to add highlights and colour. So I decided to create a step-by-step format with guidelines so you know exactly what to draw next.
Just as info, there are actually TWO types of bubble illustrations. One is “indoors” where the light source is a reflected window, and the other one is “outdoors” where the light source is a curved skyline with distorted trees & buildings. Obviously, I felt the first version is a lot more suitable for beginners since it’s much easier to visualise the reflection of a window on a spherical surface.

these look realistic but to make them even better it’s always good to look at a reference bc your mind can’t come up with every single tiny unique detail a real picture has like tiny little highlights & slight differences in color ((the best results I’ve had with drawing realism so far are all with references where i take time to copy the tiniest details & everything))
