A really nice, soothing, and very instructional video Tom. I liked the way you exposed the video a bit dark, then showed some gorgeous colorful light-filled images that you took in that “dark” environment. When scouting for images in dark forests I have to work hard to remember that the camera’s exposure triangle is completely linear. If you set the exposure right, your camera will see colors, shading, and textures the same even in the darkest environments.

Really enjoyed this Tom, I love woodland photography just breathing in all the smells, listening to all the birdsong. I tend to gravitate to the forest after a stressful week as I can really relax and take my time rather than chasing fleeting light at sunrise. I don’t know if this helps but I traded in a 6D MK II for an EOS R just before Christmas and have been very happy, the main reason is the amazing EVF, very close to optical now and being able to use it to focus/review sharpness in the field with it digitally zoomed is a game changer. You also get the nice sensor out of the 5D MK IV for less money/weight plus a flippy screen. Thanks again for the great content, Paul.

This is pretty awesome – makes me want to go out and shoot some trees myself

Going to the Tuscany workshop with you has changed the way I look at composition! Thank you for a great week.
Each new video has meaning and a different level of instruction.

Good instructive vlog. I like the panoramic photographs the most. Those photographs give me the feeling to be in that forest. I'am going to try to make panoramic. Do you really see the difference on You tube when you shoot with 4K?

I was thinking of doing exactly this earlier today on my walk in the woods. I tend to walk a lot and explore, and maybe come back with a couple of photos. I will limit myself to 200m and see what I can come up with. Cheers.
