Camera Settings for Portrait Photography

Camera settings for portrait/fashion photography. When I first started I had no idea what shooting in Manual meant. I just assumed that meant taking pictures. BUT NO. I was wrong. shooting in Manual mode will really help with the creative process. It’s something some photographers fear because they may not feel confident yet to shoot in manual and have full control over their settings. But the sooner you learn to shoot in Manual the better your photos will become.

Great video Marc! Learned a lot from what you said. I took portrait pictures on my canon 80D, and had a lot of noise. Now that I know a little more about the settings, what lens would you recommend for taking better portrait pictures ???

I know so many people have already thanked you for this video, but I wanted to add mine!
Thank you! This video maybe the first, where I felt very comfortable just listening and actually knew what you were talking about, a simple conversation about your setting, which really lifted my photography game, so again I thank you.

Hi can you help me please

  36. Jennifer Arnold says

Thanks Marc! I am a baby beginner. Just starting to click with some things. I play with my settings all the time and listen to the shutter speed sound. I think I finally am getting this triangle stuck in my brain. I like how you teach. Very simple and concise! AND, YES, WEAR THAT SWEATSHIRT ALL THE TIME! 🙂. Do you do photography as a business full time or just part?
