Thank you! There needs to be more videos on photography books on Youtube. Here are some more suggestions for cheap but great photography books…

1: Street Photography Now – Thames Hudson – £20 – Features a wide range of modern street photography greats, perfect for those wanting to get keyed up and creatively energised for a bout of street photography.

2: The Great Life Photographers – Life – £10 – This book was edited by the great Life photographer (and director of Shaft!) and showcases monumental work from arguably the greatest photography magazine ever printed.

3: Magnum Landscape – Magnum – Dirt cheap used on Amazon – Small book, grainy images but each with a haunting power. Pretty much a must for anyone interested in landscape photography, as the images show just how far away you can get from the perceived norm of landscape shooting – even to sometimes profoundly disturbing effect.

4: Century – Phaidon – £15 pb / £30 hb – This anthology of 100 years of powerful photographs is a real shelf-breaker, it's easily the heaviest book I own. But there isn't a duff image in it. There's a smaller paperback version for those with back problems. Warning, some images are disturbing, as sadly befits the 20th century.

5: Hutterite: A World of Grace – Kristin Capp – £10 – This is a wonderful, large hardcover book filled with gorgeous b&w medium format images of a Hutterite community. Contained within are beautiful portraits of a religious farming community, and there is a great sense of peace and stillness throughout the book. I'm not a religious man but I find myself turning to this book often. If you're a fan of film portraits, this is a great bargain.

Also don't forget you can check out many photo-books for free in photography galleries, just ask the friend staff, or try your local library. Finally, a shout out to Koenig books in London, where I find many a surprising bargain. Cheers again Negative Feedback!
