Hey thanks for all that you do for the community by providing these informative videos!

Can you please tell us what microphone you are using to record this video? The ear splitting midrange levels are quite enjoyable, dare I say lovely lovely, and I would like to replicate them in my videos as well. Thanks so much again!!!

Hi Toby! When you guys use those flashes to give a rim for the people on the dance floor are you putting any sort of light modifier on them?

What kind of memory card problem did you have that you needed to run recovery software? Also was it a CF card or SD card that had the problem? Glad the recovery software fixed the problem.

Lee Morris from fstoppers wrote about memory card fails and someone in the comments said he had to send a CF card to Germany. What they do is take the chip out of the CF case and read the files right off the chip. It was $1,000 dollars to recover 64gigs of photos.

Hi, (sorry for my english, I'm french)
Sorry for this late comment. I started shooting weddings a couple of months ago an I bought my first FF camera only 2 weeks ago. Thanks to your video and many other advices, I have quite a precise idea about how my wedding photography gear will look like in the future. Obviously, I don't have enough money right now and I have to make choices and this is quite difficult for me.
So my question is: what would you suggest to me considering I already have a 6D, a 50mm 1.8 and a Canon 430EX III speedlite and about 1200$ (1000€) savings. Since I have money only for one more lens so far, what would be the best compromise for me? A zoom ? A prime lens ? Wide angle?
Since I don't have much money so far, I fear to make the wrong starting choice and I can't afford to make mistakes.

    Thanks for your help.

Hi Toby! Have you seen the Phottix Laso radio transmitter for the Canon Non-RT flashes. I picked one up from B&H and I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. So, don't get rid of that 580ex flash. I'm using my Laso on a older Canon 550ex and it works great with no hiccups.

  24. Sergiy K. says

Hi have you use tripod, how often?

  25. JEFFREY GREEN says

Sorry, I looked into your comments and your check list but I can't seem to find the name of the LED flash you showed at 7:00, can you tell me the name of it? or attach a link to buy it? And also, if you have a video reviewing it? So i can see how to effectively use the constant flash without the bringing so much unwanted attention to myself.

  26. Clint the Audio Guy says

I always used a tripod for group photos at the church, or if it's an outdoor wedding and they want a group shot with all their guests. You never know when they might want a 50" print of everyone there, better to be totally sharp.

  27. Alex Warren says

The 50 1.4 you mentioned above – can you post a link on Amazon for it?

hi got another question here I have been looking at the 5d mark 1 and 2 for a cheap second hand
was thinking if I do a wedding would need  a full frame camera was tempted to buy a 7D canon body second hand for around £500 but I can also buy a 1d mark 3 it only has 10 megapixels it would be great for wildlife at 10 frames per second but with a crop of 1.3 is it any good as it does not seem full frame. any ideas thanks.

  32. Technologyadvisor1 says

I would like a response as I am trying to get the perfect kit. for doing weddings as well as general photography and wondering what you think starting off I have ordered the sigma 17-50mm 2.8 lens, canon is 70-200 2.8 have the non is 24-105mm lens from an old eos5 film camera also have a 300mm f4 lens as well as extenders 1.4 and 2x.  also have the sigma 120-400 apo lens but this seems soft so looking at selling it. I own the canon 600d and wondering should I get a used 5d camera as well or get another crop body what do you guys think would appreciate your feedback is this kit good enough to do weddings? I am wanting to get another body been asked to do a asian wedding shoot. should i get another crop camera or go for a full frame as a second camera?  Their is this debate can you do a wedding with a crop camera./………..
