Genelia D’Souza:
Genelia is an Indian film actress and model. She was born on 5 August 1987, in Mumbai, Maharashtra in India. Genelia has appeared in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil films. She is a Marathi speaking Christian from North Konkan. Genelia was raised in the Bandra suburb of Mumbai. Genelia’s mother Jeanette D’Souza was managing director of the Pharma Multinational corporation company. Jeanette left job in 2004 to help Genelia with her career. Genelia’s father Neil D’Souza, is a senior official with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Genelia also has a younger brother, Nigel D’Souza, who works with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Genelia D’Souza studied at the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra and later joined St. Andrew’s College in Bandra to pursue her bachelor’s degree of Management Studies. Genelia completed her degree while shooting for her first film, Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 and initially thought that an MNC job would suit her. Genelia D’Souza liked sports and studies in college and was a state level athlete, sprinter and a national level football player. She did her first modelling assignment at the age of 15, the result being spotted as the bridesmaid at a wedding. D’Souza was selected for the Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh. Genelia gained wide attention from the Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh. And Amitabh Bachan said her expressions were spontaneous. Genelia further did a Fair & Lovely ad in 2003, Cricket World Cup advertisement with Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikanth.
Genelia D’Souza is deeply religious and says that, she regularly attends Sunday Mass at Ann’s Parish in Bandra. She said that I’m God’s favourite child and I believed that god has always been kind to me. Genelia secretly maintain her relationship with Actor Ritesh Deshmukh. Ritesh father is a Maharashtra state Chief Minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh. Ritesh and Genelia starred together in their debut film Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. They are ready to get engaged but Ritesh father CM Vilsrao Deshmukh did not agree. However Genelia and Ritesh eventually got married on 3 February 2012, according to Marathi marriage traditions in a Hindu wedding ceremony and reception in Church. D’Souza had two sons and their name Riaan and Rahyl. Riaan born on 25 Novemeber 2014 and Rahyl born on 1 June 2016.
