Before/After – Ben Heine Photography

36 28

Some photo editing examples from my own photography portfolio.
I also made the music (titled “Whistlers”) in Ableton Live (experimental).

The video is featuring the “before” and “after” versions of some 70 of my photos. These are mainly the most viewed pictures from my Flickr and DeviantArt stream and I’ve never shown the initial images previously. I think this vid could be interesting for young photographers willing to learn some photo editing possibilities…

You're work is amazing, but I wouldn't exactly call is photography because you photoshopped it a lot. Just my opinion. 🙂 I still think you're photo editing is great.

Oh I'm for sure gonna marry this guy when I grow up! Either my head will explode with a new sense of mega creativity nourished by his presence, or I will implode with the frustration of trying to create in a mode worthy of being allowed in his sphere. Whichever, it certainly would be an exciting experience! Is there anything he can't do in a way that's not just over the top?!

Great collection of work, I would call it photo enrichment, enjoyed the music also. You have a great touch, keep on snapping more shots, have fun making art.

WOW !! Fascinating work very artistically accomplished. Great choice of music to go along with the terrific visual presentation.

Great work. If you add/remove a single element in a photo it is called photo manipulation. But I don't think that photo manipulation is a bad thing.

Your works are really cool and you have some great concepts and make beautiful images…but I find it hard to think of it as photography, because the results you achieved, though recognizable to the original, where not really the result of your camera or your actual scene there. I consider them photomanipulations when the background is changed or things are drastically altered, I'm not saying its a bad thing I just, personally, do not find it to be photography. But nice video and great works. 🙂

Fantastic photos and wonderful music too. Is there nothing you can't do?!

  25. Paige Anderson says

    great photomanips and photos! 😀
The only thing that bothers me is the video itself- the zoomy transitions are hard to watch and the 'after' pics don't last long enough. 🙁 kind of a shame, really

  26. Krisztian Toth says

    Very inspiring!

  27. Olivia DiFilippo says

This is really amazing, I wish I had enough skills to produce and manipulate photos like this. 🙂

  28. Ben Heine says

I think it's considered as photography, because we can still recognize the "after works" with their "before versions"

Taking the picture is important but editing it is also important

  33. Ben Heine says

Haha, thank you. It's mainly because I'm going to do many new things in the coming months and I think it's time to show what was behind these pictures. And most of all because it can be useful for new photographers

You know what? You're just awesome!
Because I think you've to be great (and confident about yourself and your work) to show (reveal) how you did such incredible works!
I mean…watching this video it's like watching a magician show his tricks out…:-)

    Thanks!

    You're the one…:-)
