Seems to me that the lens was completely wrong for that type of head shot, the dude’s nose looked too big. Sorry but those pics did him no favours at all. Put the guy with Peter Hurly and you’d see a huge difference.
So funny how every hater using this vid to comment bad things about Jessica but in the other vids they don’t at all
Cuz they know how great she is & can’t find something to criticize in the other vids.
True these pics where’s that great but definitely she didn’t do her best for what ever reason comparing to the other pics she took
Personal opinion; I think Jessica is an amazing photographer but her game tbh was a little off on these headshots.
Still think she’s amazing!
But these just weren’t exactly her best work 😕
To all of these ppl leaving negative comments to Jessica, to tell you what, every photographer has its own style of what they prefer or like. I'm a photographer as well and I get both good and bad comments regarding my photos. You can't always compare every photographer because we have our own styles. Some pro photographer likes to shoot bokeh and more likings to the depth of field, some are into speed and likes to shoot sports and actions, and some (including me) likes to shoot landscapes and natures. Not only that… We also have different tastes in colors and how our photos may look at post editing… Take Brandon Woelfel's style, for example, he likes it colorful with more blues and pink and lights… Others like to make it black and white, and me, I like it green and neutral and sometimes like it darker… Stop criticizing and just be happy that she shares what she knows. I can't share my knowledge because unlike her, I'm no good at making tutorials and teaching… Appreciate it, people, and be thankful… 🙂
Your banter isn't funny to anyone but yourselves. The technique in this is amateur. Skip.
You are really nice and friendly but this video is quite useless, sorry.
These are not great, why give advice when you clearly need some yourself 🙁
Photographer is very good looking and model is ugly .. please switch
Main modelling Banna Chahta Hoon
I love that you have a video for everything i need to learn! l
I have found that using a prop, like a chair, or holding something, leaning against a wall makes it more interesting.
Jess can you remake the video again? You’ve come a long way since. And you haven’t shot any male models in awhile. Thanks
Your editing ruined his clear skin💀

Doesn't that shallow depth rotolux throw light everywhere like an umbrella. Wouldn't a deep dish parabolic light box like the Westcott 47" Zeppelin or the Godox 47" counterpart be better for focusing the light and controlling it. Also for keeping it off my he background?
Really fun and useful photo, I was pretty impressed of how well the photos look considering how simple he posed, dead simple and beautiful photos, your editing is truly amazing and you are charismatic. 🙂
She is straight garbage and now I understand why the BUSINESS of photography is going downhill fast. She has no idea of what she's doing or what the equipment is or how to use it properly and the post makes it look even worse.
I'm seeing way too many negative comments. Jessica is all about ''there is no right way to take a photo''. There are no rights or wrongs, this is how she does it and she does it really well! I love watching your videos JK. You have a really cool style and I have learned tons from your editing videos! Maybe one day I will be able to do a video on ''shooting like Jessica Kobeissi'' <3
not impressive
so many ppls here complain, trying to correct jessica about the lightings, edits, camera and etc..!
you should be thankful enough a pro photographer like her is willing to share her process (everthing) of her work in the form of a video.. (im learning alot from her)
if you dont like and are not satisfied of her photos here, then just do it on your own style and preference later on your site.
atleast now you will know how to start doing these kind of photography by looking at jessica's video.. (you should thank her for showing this whole process)
(like using what lens, how many lighting, the angle of camera, background, the distance, even the ISO shutter speend and f..) shes being so generous here.
photography is art and its up to the photographer to choose the vibe and style of that session.
jessica's photo that you guys call flat or tumblr-y just simply means thats more of her style. (some clients will desire that style hence why she will be hired)
also, im pretty sure jessica is sophisticated, witty enough to change her photo styles whenever she wants. (according to her client needs)
so no need to educate her about anything photography.. seriously. (even her friends are pro, accomplished photographers. if she needs, she can always learn from them)
but shes already well educated about photography. so no.
Super unprofessional ….wtf was that editing…dont call yourself a photographer….
jessica is literally my favorite human being ever
Probably the worst video I've seen on headshots. The technical answer on which eye to focus on is the one closest to the camera. Really you didn't go get the reflector because it was pouring rain? You should change the name to a girl with a camera
I know these may not have been her best works but to all the people talking trash really? Just look at the lady's portfolio and see some of the companies that use her…Her portfolio really speaks for itself… She is a pro deal with it, she's self taught and she is good…
jessica's eyes were inlove lol
I wish i was rich af.
great job jess, keep inspiring homie. #OurStyleAdventure
waaa? you shooting with artificial light? its like a vegan eating steak…I love it!

Hi Jessica looking into this light set up and was wondering was that the 53" Rotalux? and were you standing right in front of it while shooting? It seemed so from the angle…thx!
