A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

Your talent and love of all creatures is very inspiring to a fellow Pentaxian. I have a new k70,and am very interested in close-up and macro. I just bought a new 100mm Pentax true macro lens and am anxious to get out with it.Question: I have a ring-light set-up,but would like to get a two-light set up.Do you use one?

Hi… I am yudi from Indonesia… I use eos 1200d and ef 100mm f2.8 to capture tiny insect… but to tell you the truth, i am not really satisfied with the result (not very details)… please I need some advice how to capture macro and is there any equipment to complete my camera or macro lens…?
Hey Thomas, awesome examples and video. I have a 'normal' gear, with a 100mm macrolens. Can I book similar closeups with that lens? Using a flash and a lot of patience….

I am a fairly staunch analogue fan, in all forms, I shoot only on film, including macro photography. Your line about shooting hundreds and hundred of photographs, initially bothered me. As a film photographer saying something like that is a curse word. But it's the same on film as digital. The more you take, the better the odds. (You said it much more eloquently.)
