great video showing the walk through, very helpful. most videos are just showing little parts of the day & more focusing on sharing ideas, which are also great but not what i was looking for lol. this kind of thing helps give a visual and not be so anxious about it. timing is essential with this kind of thing i'd imagine (first time)

Got my first wedding on Friday nervous as hell keep having nightmares. And I keep watching videos for ideas I have the gear just I hope I'm fast enough and get good shots this been my first I want it to go well. Hi Dave love these videos I have a question what settings are you using on your cameras through out the wedding? For example are you shooting in Manual or Aperture Priorty? and what ISO are you using for all your weddings? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the video Dave Nunn, I really enjoyed it. I know this was taken about 5 years ago, but it still really help for me. Do you have this kind of video that you taken earlier?

another question, does 70-200 work for crop camera, I am using canon 7DI's. Now I have only 17-55 f2.8, and planning to purchase 70-200.
thanks for your kind attention Dave Nunn, have an excellence day.
    best regards,
    Dedi from Indonesia

A question related to the lensen you are using at the bride's house in the beginning of the video – is there a specific reason you used the 70-200 instead of a prime like 50mm or 35mm?

  9. Paul Radwell says

I would love to know the camera and lenses you were using?

Hi Dave thanks for sharing such wonderful videos, has inspired me to shoot my first wedding, have 2 ff sony bodys, 24-70 2.8 zeiss, 70-200 f2.8. 50mm 1.7 and 2 flashes, I am a bit concerned not having enough gear

  24. jungpeter1958gmail says

At 2:39, the 70-200 lens hood almost did some damage against the wall.
But, that's where your insurance would have covered any damage, right?

The most useful video I have ever seen, it helps a lot. Dave, kindly advice as I am on a budget and planning to purchase 70-200mm, I can not afford the Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS as it is too expensive, so I am choosing between Canon 70-200mm f4L IS and Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 HSM DG OS, your advice will be very much appreciated.

Hi Eva. Thank you for your kind comments. The light is a Lowel ID video light. However, I am now using the Lowel GL-1 Hotlight which is much better 🙂

Hi, many thanks for the kind comment. I was using a 70 – 200 F2.8 and a 17 – 40 F4, I use this combination for most weddings. Emma was using an 85mm F1.8 for most of the day.

    Good luck with your wedding.

    Best Wishes

    Dave.

    Dave,

These are great videos of you shooting a wedding – please can you tell me what lenses you and Emma were using? I notice that you swap camera between you both a lot. I'm a keen amateur photographer and been asked to do a friends wedding next month.

    Thanks
