It would have been helpful to see how you mounted the fill card on the light stand, and why it was shaped like an "L". I think you glossed over that part much too quickly.

The part of the video I didn't understand is what color was the back ground before you used the gel? Meaning was it the black background or three white wall.
I am assuming since the green was dark. the black back ground was used. Am I right?

So if I want a main light, a hair light, a background light and a kicker light I will have to buy 4 speedlights. The Canon 600EX-RT is $550.00 if one wants the best. A 430EX is $300.00, so assuming I want to go "cheap" I buy the 430 EX. I'm going to have $1200.00 for the lights, then $100.00 for the Flashbender kit, and I suppose another $50.00 for adapters, the add $32.00 for AA batteries, over and over and over again. That makes $1382.00. Better figure in a couple hundred bucks for broken hot shoes because the first time your hand slips when setting the light stand down on the floor they will break off. And speedlights will really build confidence with your clients when they see what lights you are using. I used to screw around with speedlights until I got smart and began using professional a/c powered flash units that are about 3 times more powerful than a speedlight at about 1/2 the cost and I now have a huge variety of softboxs I can use not to mention snoots, cookies, parabolics, gel holders and gels and a bunch of other light modifiers. That 10.5 x 11 "softbox" would make a great hair light for portraits but that is about it.

what are the advantages of a flash compared to constant/static lights? is it sharpness, or could you accomplish this with lights used for video?

Thanks Erik! Awesome video and very simple yet professional looking outcome. Is it possible to use the same for high key white background portraits by just changing the background to white?

    Hi there. Awesome video!

Can you list the entire kit you've used? Such as which speedlight model, camera, lens, stands etc? I would like to create a hobby-studio at home and your gear / kit seems excellent for that 🙂
