In this video, Connor reviews the CowboyStudio four strobe lighting kit. This version included:
4x – Lighting Stands
4x – 160 Watt Strobes (a total of 640 Watts of lighting)
3x – 28″x20″ Softboxes with strobe mounts
1x – Light modifier set (barn door, honeycomb, and gel filters with mount)

1x – Wireless trigger and reciever

The kit is available from amazon here:

This kit is an amazing value for people who want to get into studio photography on a budget. Although this kit might be lacking raw flash power and leaves a lot to be desired in terms of durability, it gets the job done and it does it well.

This kit works well with any DSLR that has a standard hotshoe flash mount.

you can put lock tight on the screws so they dont come un done. or if possible hang the light in the other direction so the weight tightens the screw instead of unscrewing .

What do you recommend for a similar kit that is a little better quality? I might consider buying a slave also. Thanks for your help!

After a few tests this is what I'm getting.
Started at 1/200 & worked my way down to over 1sec… I do however have my pop up flash turned down to -10 to use only as a trigger since I didn't get the wireless transmitter…
It's weird but it seems like the flash fires earlier than the shutter opens.

What is your shutter speed? If you have too fast of a shutter speed the lights wont be able to sync in time. Otherwise, I would just make sure that you aren't in too bright of an area. 180 Watts isn't too too powerful

Hey, I just got a kit similar to that but with only two lights and the 180 watt version of the strobes… my problem is that they seem to flash fine but not seeing much difference in the photo…
