My gear and setup I’m currently using:

Nikon D750 FX full frame DSLR
Love this camera, the more I use it the more it blows me away. Sensational in low light, great dynamic range for all types of photography.

Nikon 16-35mm f4
One of the best lenses I have ever used.

Sigma 70-200mm f2.8
Incredible lens considering its not a native Nikon. Just gets better and better the more I use it.

You never think you are good enough unless you are a Tom Heaton. I always enter a National Photo Contest just for the experience. Out of 158 entries last year I won 4th place and got $100. This year, out of 160 entries I won 1st place, $500. The juror that judged the contest said he could feel the emotion in the photograph. I didn't think either of the two prints were particularly great and thought others in the show that didn't place were better but I will say, I always strive to emphasize the emotion of the moment in the image. I say, put yourself out there. Enter contests, put prints out for sale, do workshops. If you gain nothing else, it is good experience and you may be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. .

Great video as always Mali, just watching now on the big screen. I’ve just got done editing a video myself where I’ve limited myself to shooting with only a 70-300 (Tamron USM VC). I shot a couple of weeks ago at Burrator on Dartmoor. It definitely makes you think about details in your composition more.

Great stuff as always Mali. It pays to get to know a few locations for a quick trip after work. The silver birch shots were great and I loved the last shot.

I used to shoot wide all the time but now I also enjoy that narrow use 🙂 especially in street photography

  19. Diego McCartney says

The final location with the silver birch trees deserves many returns back. I bet you could get all kinds of variations of light there. Great scene. Talk about going intimate Mali. The first shot was lovely. Thanks for sharing as always and happy to keep watching. Cheers

Tell me this, what settings (protune) had you dialled into the gopro and did you change them as light fell?
