A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

Nice setup Jason. I'm sure it was pretty sketchy the first few times on the water with the camera gear.
The tripod is a Manfrotto 055X Pro B with a Manfrotto 701 video head. I am currently using a gimbal style head which is better for birds in flight. The kayak is a Future Beach Trophy 126. The stock seat provided with that kayak is uncomfortable so I also use one of those stadium seats for added comfort. As far as being able to bend my legs, like most sit in kayaks there is not a lot of room to do that in that style of kayak.

How do you plan to mount it to your shoulder?I bought a bigger version of a gorillapod,by sunpak,that I wondered if I could do something like that with.
I started out shooting hand held, then went to a mono-pod, but the tripod has been so much more stable on calm water. This next season I want to mount a camera over my right shoulder to give viewer an idea of what I am photographing.
Huh.nice.never thought of setting up the camera that way in the yak.So used to using a gorillapod for backpacking,didnt think of going back to a bigger tripod with the yak!
