Hi Irene, great shots and great poses from your sister! By watching your movements I see that you always seem to be recomposing slightly after focusing. Could you please tell me what are you focusing on? I think the eyes but let me know if i'm wrong and also if you use only one focus point on your mk iii? I have the same camera that's why i was curious. I currently use 100mm f2.8 L for portraits, I have a 50mm f.14 but I don't find i to be reliable lately although i bought it new, it doesn't seem to perform as i'd like at 1.4…It's not as sharp as I'd want

Thanks for showing how you choose the light, it's very interesting. What puzzles me about just about ALL the people I see doing this is that they carry around on their camera a thing called a lens hood which they NEVER use but it clearly is an obstruction to holding. So why not just take it off and let it rest while you have a better hold on the lens? Or use it the way it is supposed to be used?
Just a thought.
So by the way – I've been forced to be on the other end of the lens (just because some people were enthusiastic about taking pictures, not because I'm photogenic-which I'm not!) and I can say – modelling is really hard work – it's a thing of utmost patience with all the wims of the photographer and other opinion carriers around you.

I am getting ready to go teach my Photo Class tonight as I type, but have a couple of questions pls.
Curious why you didn't use a reflector, although the light is divine!
Why not have the model wear something modest underneath but not reveal the jeans? they are still obvious 😊
Which scanner do you use for your MF film? ( I have a lot of 6x17cm reversal film panos I shot in New Zealand
and want to scan them myself )

Don't like the blacks and darks in your photos. They are too heavy and look unnatural and not pleasing for a female portraiture.
