Innovations High School is the ONLY Big Picture Learning-Inspired School in the State of Nevada. Scholars at Innovations benefit from a small, advisory-based learning community. Each Advisory and Academic Workshop is led by a Highly Qualified Advisor (teacher). Advisors teach core content, but also play a critical role in helping scholars identify their passions and interests to create a personalized learning experience. Scholars are immersed in career and college preparedness, and eventually will participate in an internship one day a week in the community. Dont ever let your children go to this school. As a former student, I can honestly say that this school has taught me nothing other than how awful people can be at times. I am glad to have gotten out of this school and am now pursuing a chemistry degree. I can honestly thank Google and my textbooks for my learning, not innovations high school. The staff cares very little (if any) about their curriculum and instead focus more on trying to push their political beliefs on their students. Every single student smokes marijuana and as a result the whole school smells like it after lunch (and the principle, to this day has done nothing about it.) Bullying is a major issue there. If you are considering enrolling yourself or your child in a big picture high school in Nevada, I would strongly advise going somewhere else. Unless of course you dont value your education.
