Ordered the G7 as a backup to my Sony a7ii. Can't wait for it to arrive.
It's late 2018 and I picked up a g7 over the summer for video but I use the shit out of it for photo. I recommend this as a first camera for anyone or as a back up video camera also

Almost a year after this video. I got my g7 for video but just like you. Took some shots with it and wow just wow
COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY, THERE IS NO VIDEO STABILIZATION ON IT AND YOU CANNOT DO ANY MOVING VIDS WITHOUT GETTING THE WORST SHAKY VID. MINE IS 1 MONTH OLD AND WILL SELL ITY HALF PRICE..
have you used the a6000 if so how much better is the photo quality?
great video! thanks for discussing and demonstrating the ability of this camera for taking stills, especially in low light. most of the other reviews I've seen for this camera either (a) completely ignore talking about stills or (b) only take stills in ideal conditions… outside, full light, stationary subjects. you review is definitely the most well rounded one that I've seen for this camera! thanks!

Gh4 isn't a dslr. Neither is g7. They're mirrorless cameras.
I just got one of these for 5 benjamins. Never owned a camera in my life. It came with a lens. Looking to shoot some stills and occasional video.
Really nice review!!! I want a camera that has good video and can take good pictures do you think that this would be a nice camera. I liked the sample pictures because most reviews on this camera are focused on just the video.
