Can You Develop FILM in BEER?!?!?

21 17

Dogfish Head is an amazing brewery in Deleware – they’ve released a Gose called Super Eight. Currently collaborating on a film with Kodak, they claim this beer can be the perfect catalist for developing film. I decided to put it to the test. Can you actually develop film using beer? Develop responsibly.

  1. Love this. Having just developed my first roles with actual developer etc this is intriguing and something I'd love to try.

Love the video Ted, I would love to see more analogue videos. Ive watched your back catalogue extensively and although the older videos are great you have improved as an educator and video maker so I would love to see some new/updated videos on your thoughts on film and film experiments. I know from the podcast you're not really into it as much as you used to be but it could make for some fun videos that give you an excuse to shoot some images just for fun with no repercussions.

Make mine D-76 or HC-110 at appropriate dilutions. (Beer is for drinking, pickling, or cooking!;)

I really miss your analog posts. It is your analogue side that has made your channel stand out among all the other boring channels. So please, more analog photography.

Speaking of beer… Actually have you done a series on traveling with darkroom chemicals? I travel a little bit and would like to be able to develop my black and white film while abroad. Any tips or suggestions?
