"Cheap hear" / shoots with a shitload of expensive lights…

  6. Skurvagis CSC says

I would not have edited both photos. They were shot in perfect lighting, contrast and everything. But i think the right picture with crazy hair would win

  7. Ed Doodler says

    Lee's photo by far!

  8. Naif Gobory says

The photographer touches , taste , creativity and how to distribute lights are the pivotal factors that matter

  9. Jeff La says

For me the real challenge was to have both of you shooting at same time using the same lighting ,etc….

I like Lees shot without the hair blowing. The one you said that looked like from a high school year book. However, you asked about the 2 final shots. What seems to be lost in this video was that one was shot with an iPhone. I have got to say that I was impressed that the real trick was the lighting. Camera quality has improved so much over the years that a high end camera or low end camera can produce such fantastic work.

Learnt a heck of a lot from shootout. Your results are really brilliant and so was my learning; I did thoroughly underestimate my iphone with spot-lock focal point and then adjust exposure – Wow! My professor used to say: – if you know everything about something then you can "Yes" but if it's 95% then your answer is "No". My point is, every contribution can help your learningโ€ฆ and oh boy I learnt something. Thank you guys so much and don't stop doing what your doping. Did I say: – "thanks". Ok! Thank!. Addicted to learning from you both. God bless

click bait. this was no challenge at all. for vs you should use one pose , edit and compare.
what you did here was seeing if you can use the phone for the job..and we already knew it can.. with certain limitations of course.
    thumbs down.

Lee hands down… composition was better. Didnโ€™t like the red cast choice. The hair perfectly frames the face. Now if Patrick dropped the red… ooooooh thatโ€™d be tough ๐Ÿง

I like the original smoke. I think the. Filters killed it. With out the filter it gives a classic detective somwhat nior feeling

  24. David S. says

Really nice photo at the 10:30 mark, as the model, Meghan, is more than beautiful enough to stand out with just the standard photo. The smoke and wind was unnecessary though they provided for an alternative viewpoint. Meghan, Iโ€™d agree, looks around 20-25 years old and is an absolute stunner – hopefully she can avoid the traps of plastic surgery and the like as she definitely doesnโ€™t need it, nor is she ever likely to!
Well done to all concerned for providing additional examples of what we amateurs should be looking to.

I want to separate the artistic ability of the photographer vs the technical ability of the equipment. DSLR wins hands down as far as the pure quality of the photo. Not too crazy about the post as it changed the photo based on on uneven bases; obviously the DSLR has more details to play with and it can shoot raw, iPhone does not. Further enhancing the photo does not add any value.
The addition of the red hue to the iPhone was a bit much for me, I liked the photo without it.
I wish you shot the same pose and same detail with both instruments and them compared, no post editing.

I wonder what the images look like enlarged. Does the iPhone get too soft?
    resolution matters.

Expensive camera looks way better he just chose his worst pic lol

  34. Charles Rollins says

Iphone image looks cheap, and substandard like it should cause it is. An image processor as small as your fingernail cannot compete with a larger one in a camera.
