I peeled off the clear plastic and with a roller painted one side black, but I can't get the paint to completely cover all the crevasses even after three coats and dabbing spots with a brush. It might be better to keep the clear plastic on and paint over it. Also, I'm leaving off the stand because it will make the v-flat too tall for my low ceiling (and I already cut off one foot of the board). I'm going to tape a hinge support to the back like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUQGRMBIPRk My studio is small so I won't use it as a backdrop, but it will work as a light blocker.

Gaffer's Tape is great for it's uses… The primary attribute of the Gaffer Tape is that it can be peeled off a surface without leaving a residue. However, for any permanent use in which you don't intend to remove the tape, there are better varieties of tape you can use. I personally like Gorilla Tape which comes in several sizes.and several colors, including black, white and silver gray. The 3-inch (actually 2.88-inch) Gorilla tape is absolutely great for binding the ends of polystyrene sheets which prevents then from crumbling and is also great for making hinges between sections of board. The Gorilla Tape holds like a "Gorilla" and would also be good for backing up the "L" brackets you use to make these flats stand upright…

I hope this can help – On the foam boards,  For the base  make slots on the bottom . To be able to slide the brackets back and forth. This  gives you room for all widths of foam board. Use large washers also they will help support the brackets – Then get a long screw with a wing nut to tighten it.  Also so you can then take the foam board out to store them for later use and be able to use different ones with different colors.  All in all this is a good idea what was done on the video. Also if you can use butcher paper and clip it on the foam board – paint over the butcher paper so you can just 1 foam board. Lots of ideas..   Sue is excellent she always goes the extra mile on many concepts..
