I have a compact camera that is 3-6 years old. I was thinking of getting a Bridge, but you make it sound like I might as well wait and build funds for a budget DSLR. Not a bad idea.

great explanation, thumbs up. the only thing that might be added is that there are a lot more lenses for dslr-s on the market than for mirrorless cameras

lol, I'm looking for a camera with no selfrespect that likes being smached under my foot doing Nin-ja exercises but can get up in case a cop trys to accuse me unjustly. Lmfao, The Samurai's Slave by cannon. Yeah the camera paid me to be my sex slave, so that the camera could join the higher classes. She's a very sweet doormat. I do want to know if you know a sexy camera that likes gitting wore out. I may not get a return massage though.

  33. ABC DEF says

I feel bridge cameras are great for beginners. I started with Nikin P90. As a beginner you need to understand how the camera actually functions. Buying a DSLR straight away won't help.

I think the compact camera market is probably dying. Don't get me wrong, I have had a compact Nikon camera for like the past 7 years, but now they are basically useless because the smartphone technology has caught up with them. Bridge cameras would be great if they had larger sensors, that is why the FZ1000 is excellent

great video , I do feel that bridge cameras are a good way to see what your interest level really is and a cheaper way to and to get you ready for the next level camera- I started out with the Canon power shot Sx 530 which was a very good camera.

  48. Optidorf says

Maybe even more important than the type of camera is the size of the sensor. Most people that choose a DSLR over a mirrorless camera prefer a full frame instead of a crop sensor. A full frame camera will let you have a broader range in the depth of field compared to a crop sensor. While many DSLR's are full frame there are some mirrorless cameras that are also full frame.

Another type of camera is a micro four thirds.
