It would need to be something special to beat the D500.

  3. Butch Dye says

    You are one sedated dude.

  4. Julia Smith says

Sweet work. Thanks a bunch. 🙂

  5. Monster Fueled says

so is shooting in dx mode basically the same as when you "zoom in" with your phone? youre just cropping the picture as soon as you take the shot instead of waiting till you get to lightroom to do it?

  6. Frank Romero says

Do you use Crop Mode in the D850 to take bird pictures? Thanks Chelsea.

  7. Jon Payne says

Is the autofocus and tracking better than the D500 overall? I shoot primarily birds and want upgrade my camera. I do also love walking around the city as well as landscape.

  8. Jeremiah Terry says

will the D850 shoot 9 fps with an after market grip?

  9. gwen says

    aaAAHHhHhhh nikon d850😭😭😭

  10. LightningAssault.com says

The DSLR is like the internal combustion engine in the face of the electric car revolution. Stubbornly refusing to go away quietly by maxing out what it got to get the highest performance possible using legacy methodology.

  11. Dennis Swanner says

Yeah, yeah, so was the 7d mkii.

  12. Philip Cunio says

Often you are right, but this time, wrong. Sony A9 is unmatched. Wife had D850, sold it for A9. I had Canon 5DS and 7DII. Sold then for an A9 and A7RIII. Never regretted the move.

  13. abhishek thorat says

    Nikon d850 or Sony a7iii ?

  14. Jack Donachy says

    Another terrific review. Thank you!

  15. HW S says

What lenses did you use and recommend on D850? Is 200-500 good? Or better off with prime lens, like 300mm etc? Thanks

  16. Beeastownage says

Hey does anyone know if tony and Chelsea did a video on extension tubes. I noticed they mentioned it in this video, but since I’m newer to the game here I have no clue what they do or what they are exactly.

  17. TimberGeek says

How does adding a battery grip to the D850 & D500 effect the weather sealing?

  18. Alex Cretu says

Hi! I wanted to ask you which camera has the better AF speed and accuracy for Birds in flight ? D500 or D850 ? And there is a huge improvement in the AF speed comparing to Nikon D750/810 ?

  19. Jon Hazell says

I like the nikon/canon competition between the companies. It makes them innovative and only means the best options for the buyer.

    10/10 thank you

  22. Stan Kaslusky says

Hi – Enjoy your reviews. -Just purchased the D500 for the shutter release speed, the auto focus system and the buffer. I enjoy taking birds in flight. My D750 takes exceptional  pictures but the buffer fills fast. Its early but I've noticed that the detail in the D500 doesn't match the D750 full frame. To get it all do I need to jump to the D5?

  23. Steve Webb says

Would love it, but we'd have to mortgage our home…

  24. David Pog says

    hi

I have a D500 with sigma 150-600 sport combo for wildlife and D610 with nikon 20mm 1.8 for landscape. I’m thinking to go for D850 in place of this two. Is this good idea in your opinion. Or should I wait a bit spare some money and sell only D610 and keep D500.

  25. Alex D. Simic says

How did you get the camera to NOT hunt for focus all the time? It seemed to keep everything in focus for this video. Is there a video mode for this or you had a guy manual focus through the whole video?

I am in between the 5D Mark 4 and this one, and video auto focus is important to me, so please help guys

hello, this nikon d850 have touch screen, in terrain is good or bad? Please help but i think about buy this camera for wildlife shooting. When is cold, work this touch screen?

  31. Javad Khaleghzadeh says

It's a mistake to think that 20 percent more megapixels equals 20 percent more of focal length. When your focal length gets X times as long, your subject area will be X to the power of two times as big. Thanks for your useful videos.

  32. claudia33 says

Sony Alpha 7 Rlll all the way

  33. Gibson Weasel says

The D500 is 10FS? so wouldn't that be better for birds? plus with the extra crop reach?

  34. TJ Perez says

Hey Tony and Chelsea or anyone else who shoots Nikon, I am thinking about getting the Nikon D850 over my Sony a7rii due to not being weather sealed and overheating here in Arizona which I can't really shoot video outside nor do I much I mostly shoot photos.  I am wanting to get into wildlife photography and which lenses would you recommend to start out?  I was thinking the Nikon 200-500 f5.6 but not sure? Is there any other lenses you'd recommend? Thank you,TJ

  35. jharmon1164 says

I have a question about super telephotos with the D850. Which would you say is a better lens for the D850, the Nikkor 200-500 f/5.6, the Tamron 150-600 G2 or the Sigma 150-600 sport? I will be using it primarily for wildlife photography. Thanks Jeff
