One of my favourite shots was from a hike, complete mid day. I underexposed a little, and disregarded the image for over half a year before I reapproached it. That half year was the difference between me being unable to edit it and being able to turn it into something wonderful. It went from trash to one of my favourites.

    Hi

I want to know from you how to get pleasant unruffled and smooth effect of the sea during long exposure using ND filters. Because some of my images have foggy or smoky effect. Is it because of the high tidal effect or due to the (high) angle?

Though I like some of the images with foggy or smoky effect, I would prefer to get a neat and silent smooth effect to the moving water.

    Your thoughts on this please.

    Thanks you

Adam I couldn’t agree more, that we should not shy away from the classic location, it’s a fantastic way to improve your skills, there is too much negativity about shooting the icons, I just don’t understand that mindset. Ultimately, by shooting icons, you’ll be improving your eye for moving onto finding and creating your own images/location/composition , these may become an icon of the future. A well structured video, thanks for sharing your thoughts
