It'd be great to see a full studio portrait walk through video!
    Keep it up Pete!

  2. Travis Galon says

Had two of that exact same flash. Perfect for night time surf photos.

Not the best flash for the price this would be the Godox 600 or the 685 Godox offer the best flash for the money and the best flash and combined lighting system available and the work across all brands with the right trigger. So you could have multiple Godox lights and they will work with Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, Olympus to name a few you only need the trigger for that brand so one light setup for all brands this will help you out and Matty massively also check out the ad200, ad400 pro and ad600 pro lights this system will blow your mind SIMPLES.

I actually have a SUNPACK flash that I bought from Walmart and it has ETTL as well. It was only $69.00 and is worth waaaaaaay more. I bought it for my first wedding shoot. Best investment! so cheap and boosts quality so much if you know what you're doing. I was and still, am shocked at how well it shoots after 2 years of use. The only downside is it runs on AA batteries.

Please do the full flash tutorial!!!!!

  7. Jason Rogers says

If this video came out about 4 years ago, maybe. Godox has a cheaper flash with more capabilities and a light system that includes strobes.

Have you used the Adorama on-flash soft box??

  10. Desmond H says

If you are new to flash, DON’T BUY THIS FLASH! If you are serious about photography, go get a Godox flash instead. For more info go watch FJH Photography video “The REAL $99 Photography Must have”
Pete means well but as he pointed out, he doesn’t do much flash and this Yongnuo flash is limited and not a wise long term buy

I've got something like 30 flashes ranging from $30 Amazon Basic speedlights, to Profoto B1's, and even 2400w Elinchrom packs for Tintype photography. I have a studio in Ohio if you want to come hang for a day and make a video!

  15. Marc Gaudet says

super interested in you making a viedo explaining flash photography, and using off camera flash

  16. Christy Gregory says

I would loooove a full video from you explaining flashes, soft boxes, etc more extensively 😃

Good video Peter! Yongnuo makes good products. Did a video about a 35mm lens they sell for Canon cameras, it actually is made from an old Canon lens schematic. Takes great video and photos. I would bet this flash is a knockoff of a more expensive Canon flash.

Very good ! Always enjoying and learning from you to grow up as a filmmaker!

I've got a pair of them and an older flashpoint Li-on Zoom. Due to the high cost and short run-time of AA I would much prefer to pay the extra $40 up front for a Lithium pack flash then the AA set.

I wouldn't use the word slave in the way you did at 7:28 because there's a separate setting called slave mode. It's technical, geeky terminology, but hey what do I know. 🙂

  22. Arthur Pisarski says

It'd be great to have a more in depth video on flash photography.
