    Error: the description of a roundhouse in Martinsburg is not West Virginia at that time, it was Virginia. Yes, eventually it became WV in 1863 during the Civil War. Suggestion: write it as VA (WV) as done by genealogists.

    Great pics! Looking at those layers of heavy, often woolen, garments and considering what was the norm back then for bathing regularly and deodorant, there musta been some real B.O., LOL.

Thank you to whoever put this together providing detailed captions for all the photos that described time and place. Nothing worse than un-captioned historic photos that allow the people and places to be lost to future knowledge.
