Great video but the title is misleading. Should be titled client engagement.

  2. Kevin Queen says

I thought this was about marketing, at the very end he says hopefully business will come my way..what kind of marketing principle is that anyway?

  3. Keller Coleman says

You are the best Peter, and I enjoy learning from you. Thanks.

  4. Mike Grittani says

Only actual marketing advice is about 16:00 forward. And even then, 17:00 forward is just an advertisement for Moo. Otherwise the rest of the video is just advice on how to be a personable photographer…

  6. Jose Soriano says

"How to market your photography business" they say :S

  7. S Tra says

What a garbage video. There’s nothing in it about “how to market yourself”. It’s a “I’ll take a headshot” and then let’s plug Moo video. Wow, really? “You need business cards” is a marketing strategy? What a fuckin’ idiot this guy is. And he’s ugly, too.

  8. Miranda Pennington says

    <3 <3 <3 I LOVE everything about this video!!!!

  9. Dave says

I'm 10 minutes in and still nothing about marketing?

  10. JUST SAYING says

Hey Pete, this was great! Thanks!

  11. Sandra Lighton says

Business owners need more advertising alternatives. The marketplace is so saturated. Don't you think?

  12. Ghost Ghost says

I’m in love with her legs and ass

  13. Greg Yarbro says

This really had nothing to do with marketing, more with how to take a headshot and how to create business cards 🙁

  14. Fernando Hernandez says

    Awesome 👏🏼

  15. Jas Bataille says

I see a lot of negative comments on this video saying that those advices were poor marketing advices etc and how handing your clients cards is not gonna do anything for your business and what not… but.
Seriously, I am in the business as a portrait/lifestyle photographer and this is pure gold*. Some folks around here need to chill out on their expectations and actually *listen to what masters like Pete are saying… maybe the title of the video is wrong or whatever but this is SO important.
The best marketing tool you have is your clients' experiences. He is damn right in that. A lot of people spend time building their IG and all but first of all you gotta build your people skills and then you're going to see one client recommending you to another then to another etc etc and it's just gonna be snowballing! Anyway, I love this guy.

  16. Brendan Howard says

What a waste of a video. How about you talk about actual marketing the photography business before you actually get the person through the front door. You've got t to know how to crawl before you can walk.

  17. Rick Artman says

No marketing content. Just customer interaction in the studio.

  18. Karson Media says

If Thanos and Will Ferrell had a kid together

  19. Great video, thank you for making it, very helpful.

  20. Ángel M. Huerta says

This video has nothing to do with how to market your photography business… NOTHiNG…

  21. Tahatun Nahar says

Is this guy stupid or is the video titled wrongly?? The whole video is about making your clients comfortable.. What a joke.. Worst video from fstoppers

  22. Sergio Ramirez says

    u r thanos¡?

  23. Colored Lines says

Ok…Making your session great is always good to prolong your brand loyalty but pre-qualifying the client and working in the pre-survey realm is more key. A website should function within 3-seconds of the engagement. Social proofing to invite clients is also
Very helpful. Take a group photo at a annual party with your clients. Get video testimonials even if it’s on your iPhone. This video is titled for something that is not helpful and rules out many key tactics that a great marketer will always kill you on. Cmon f-stoppers!!!

  24. Richard Sumilang says

Is Peter controlling his computer with Playstation controller?

  25. NetGawker says

The guidance and direction this man shared for FREE is MILES above all the gizmo bullshit advice other videos put out. I needed this video. Thank you so much.

So the actual business advice is to hand out business cards and stickers? Worst marketing video ever.

  29. Robi Ahmad says

  30. Michelle Cox Photography says

Wow this is all so much great information. It feels basic in "business or sales" but honestly so many photographers don't know how to do this so loved hearing this information!!

  31. Kim Jonsson says

Yeah walk up to the model, block her path, stand squarely in front of her and don't stop staring. That will get her relaxed. I know Peter Hurley is a genious photgrapher but this isn't a prime example of a good first impression. I would feel intimidated even as a guy.

  32. Dávid Bodrogi says

Hey Peter! I loved the video and you are right about everything you said, how ever it doesn't go into actually getting clients. I'm a photogrpaher with years of expirience working for already established companies. I'm starting my own company in the UK, where I've not worked before. I was wondering if you have any tipps on how to get those first clients? Or how to get traffic to your website? Here is my website: https://blauphoto.co.uk/ Thanks for all the great content that you have already put out there. Any help would be much apriciated! David Bodrogi

I know how to take good pictures except that i dont kniw how to start the business and talk to my client i'm nervois tslking to other people

  34. Denise Houk says

0 info on really marketing your photography business… you need to get people to see your work and know who you are to get them in the door. Maybe have Fstopers make videos about you? That seems to help🤪

  35. Andrew Williams says

I met Peter years ago at a Fstoppers event and all I can say is he’s a great guy it’s not something he puts on for the camera.

  36. Vent salvador says

  37. CMDR Shane says

"Narrow the distance between your temporal lobe and your esophagus…" – A sentence I never thought I would hear. Where do you come up with this stuff! =) But also was that a funny way of saying tilt your head forward while you got her to smile?
