A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

Wow, I thought Thomas Kincade died. I go nuts over Peters stuff just like everyone else. You can't help it, it's breath taking! He is just a wee tad heavy on the saturation knob though. Still, he earns his reputation, he goes where the shots are and gets some good ones.
The "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" aftertaste takes away any enjoyment i would like to bring to myself from someones achievements in photography.
A lot of haters in the photography industry I have noticed… I bet not one of you have half as much to show for yourselves as Peter. When you spit hate and negativity it says nothing about him and everything about you.

There are many true landscape photographers but he's not one of them. I bet he could'nt develope a role of b/w film. I am not a landscape photographer but I do admire Clyde Butcher's landscapes What he does IS photographic art..

Holy saturation Batman
It's kind of a shame that they state the printing process is a secret when it has been made well known most of his prints are done with old lightjet technology on super gloss media. This technique is cheaper and widely available from most any online print lab. The most discouraging part is the prints are not even archival when produced this way. His work may be initially captured and processed with fine art techniques but the prints are not.

When adjusting color saturation on my photos I always like to joke, "On a scale of 1 to Peter Lik." There certainly is a career to be made out of taking the most obvious landscape shots and then taking the saturation slider to 100. Oh well, I'd be lying if I said I still didn't enjoy his photos and find inspiration in them.
it takes lots of income, to move forward, im making it possible now.
I am thinking like Henry: it is all about presentation. There are dozens, hundreds of people able to create stunning panoramas ! Check on shutterstock for example ! Peter Lik has the ability to present well, has the money to create very nice galleries, but most of his picture presented are not so difficult to get. The most difficult is to get into the place with the good light, it is a matter of time. I hate people who put their amaizing EGO in the plate of all the others. Give me a Nikon 810 and I can do the same picture sold 6.5 Ml. If comes out that it is no true man, you will have to pray for your soul for long times !
lol Wow if you ever have a chance you should visit one of his gallery. He puts more into his pictures than great techniques, it like a sport to him, he command his shots, he doesn't go for the shot that is available, he forces the play. I can write a book on this guy. Passion with clarity is focus. If you don't believe in you, why should anyone else. I don't see his ego excluding anyone. He just knows what makes life work for him. People who don't have it usually knock it.
