When considering how to photograph products on a white background, there are a few lighting tips we can keep in mind. A bright gradated background will refract beautiful light into our wine bottles giving them a sense of volume. By capturing a high-contrast backlit frame we also make it possible to cut out the wine in photoshop, negating the need to get #ffffff white backgrounds straight out of camera. Let me run you through my workphlo for how to photograph white wine bottles.

Hey Dustin, what is this tripod/plexiglass attachment? Is this a DIY solution or where can I grab one? Thanks!

  8. Matthew Aylard says

Awesome work Dustin, really enjoy the approach with speedlights, makes product photography more reachable to the hobbyist and still get professional results, I learn a lot from you. Your speed of delivery when taking the photos and explanation is perfect. If you moved the video around the setup more though it would be even more perfect πŸ™‚

Please show more behind the scenes? and try Lee 216 paper rather than cotton diffusion?

If you did a playlist or even a subscription site to slow down your photoshop session that would be amazing! Thank you! Just tossed you a tip on PayPal.

Great video. Where did you get the "tripod tabel" from?

  27. Cloud Dancer says

I now easily do this in photoshop, so all my customer has to do is send me their label in mail and I can create any studio shot now. No need for all this work now and a lot more control in photoshop. Most of my customers also do not prefer the hard light white strip band on the bottle. Just a tip.

  28. Achoo says

Hi, how does that black flag work to make the edge of the bottle sharp? What is its relationship between the light source and bottle? Does it just need to be near the bottle, or does it need to be near the bottle and blocking some of the light? Thanks!

  29. Manu Malpica says

Great and amazing video you make it look so easy, I'm waiting for the natural light photography for products. Thank you.

  30. Dan Baram says

Another great video. Thanks. What is the name of that bracket, between the acrylic shelf and the light stand head? I'd like to get one of those, so that I can reproduce your demonstration myself.

  35. Mika LevΓ€lampi says
