***OVERVIEW***

It’s always tricky trying to determine wedding photography pricing, particularly if you’re just starting out.

People will often recommend you charge just under what your competition is, charge depending on your business expenses alone or offer a variety of packages to suit all budgets.

But in this video, I’ll share with you my tips for wedding photography pricing, so you don’t have to go about it blindly.

We’ll discuss taking into consideration not only your business costs but also your personal expenses and business costs.

To ensure you’re making a living, we’ll also get realistic about how many weddings you’re actually booking per year and why you need to factor this into your wedding photography pricing.

I’ll also share with you the importance of establishing a reputation so you can justify charging what you want.

Thanks for the insight Henry. Your approach is much more realistic to setting pricing. It’s based on what I need to make, not my competitors or my customers budget.

    Two of the biggest problems:

    1. EVERY photographer wants to make great money. No one ever said: "I don't care how much I make. I just love shooting weddings for a living."
    2. Couple's budgets are shrinking and their perception of photographers is changing. It's starting to become a price war. People just don't value wedding photographers like they used to.

Big flaw. You arent taking into account taxes at all. If you have $7,000 in expenses free and clear, you need MORE than $7,000 in income a year to be able to afford that because taxes will knock that way down.

Great topic! I struggled with pricing first starting out but my packages are the ones you mentioned in your example. Now that I have my packages I am actually thinking about lowering my starting price to attract more leads/clients in such a saturated market!
