I never saw the NEST video because I assumed it was you hating/ reviewing NEST, I didn't know it was a guide to a security system.
I call BS on lowering insurance rates. I told my insurance had security cameras and I asked if I could get a discount they actually raise my rates because my security system was worth $5,000. They raise my rates by $10 a month.

As someone who works in tech support in the headquarters building for a security camera manufacturer, Nest cameras can only do up to 1920×1080/2MP, stuff my company is phasing out because 2MP quality is so old… while we currently have up to 4K/8MP cameras (both IP cameras and TVI) that you can use local storage up to 40TB with with our DVRs/NVRs. The good thing about Nest and Ring is their easy to use, hassle-free software… can’t say the same for my companies software XD.

Anyone that would put a nest camera, an Amazon or the google speaker in their house is also an idiot. This is better, and keep it OFF the Internet.
I like Ring products more. All in one cloud recording for all of your cameras for only $10 a month or $100/year. Plus it has a mobile app which is incredible for when you're not at home. It also has audio recording and 2 way speakers.
