Two things I always carry with me: a pocket knife and hairties! The knife always comes in handy for something, whether it's opening a package or screwing a tripod plate into a camera! And hairties because, well, I've got long hair so I need them myself, but so often there's someone in need of a hairtie and if you carry some with you you'll be their hero. Also makes for some unconventional mounting options, I've used them to mount microphones and tiny LED lights before!
