Nice video, Just what I needed starting out with HSS. But I have a question, As some of us may be on a tight budget like me, affording that high power flashes may not be an option. Do you think this is possible with a Yongnuo 685 (grade 60)? Costed my 100ish $. Would be awaiting a reply. Cheers
As far as I know the Strobes you used need an external power system. What did you use? Thanks.
I enjoyed the way you demonstrate & describe the processes; you have a talent at teaching. Vavavoom 🙂
Hi Ed I have try shooting to overpower the sun @ those setting ISO50 F.7 Shutter 250 it seen impossible on you video min 7:02 it shows your setting may be at F16 Shutter 160 tell me are you using a ND Filter? what time of the day the shoot that photoshoot?
That live demonstration of the ambient and flash balancing was brilliant! Great job!
Just one suggestion – Please lower the volume of background music in your next videos. It's too loud compared to your voice, so one has to constantly fiddle with the volume button.
Nice video but that HORRIBLE music ruins it all.
Really helpful video!
Love your video. I am contemplating wheather or not to buy a new battery for outdoor strobe shooting. I have a charger which my sister gave me and strobes also. It's alot to carry and heavy if you don't have an assistant.
Great great video. You made this very clear to understand, congratulations 👍🏼
you the best bro!
Great video! Very informative!!! Question, will this work if im only using on camera flash? Like the godox tt350?
Really informative stuff. Thank you
Are the final photos shown in-between the videos are colour corrected or they are RAW files? Just curious :). Amazing explanation by the way. Thanks a lot.
Muchas gracias!
Really good explanation of how to use a flash outside . great information & they way you put it across. Nice 1 Mate!
Not every one can afford those big flashes. These tutorial doesnt apply to to all outdoor portrait photographers
hey ed, Thanks for the great tip. One question.. In a situation where a flash is not available, what would be your suggestions/ tips/ workarounds to take a good enough photo in the same background ? Thanks 🙂
Hypothetically, couldn't you do both shots and mask her out, so that you still get the brightness and detail on the model as well as the clear, saturated background?
Oh, Hey! I recognize this place! Lived a few years in Carson City. Grew up in the Eastern Sierra. Been to Tahoe plenty of times! I'm loving the look of this style! Bein in Los Angeles, I get way more cloudless, harsh sunlight than I care for. I finally dug out my Yuongnuo speedlight from my closet, and got a Neewer wireless trigger from Amazon a few weeks ago. Now I gotta' head to Venice Beach and try this out!
Sorry but I'm not so happy with your tutorial….. whay do you show your so great pictures not more then 0.3 sec.? I can imagine way….
Absolutely excellent learning
Great photo’s! Big thumbs up 👍🏻
Thumbs Down 👎 because Music is to loud and the voice to quiet. 👎
Perfect video!! Really good and interesting subject!! Sorry for any english misstype, once I'm from Brazil and I'm pushing me up just give a LIKE congrats!!
Hello, good video! What flash do you use? Is Super Sync? I see that you only fire up to 250. Greetings Izuky
Excellent video. Thank you.
Good stuff
Amazing video….
You're amazing, thank you!
Bro who win iPhone ?
great video
Thank you!
What metering mode you used in that kind of situation? I am using Nikon camera as well by the way.
Hi Ed…when you say "expose for the background", do you actually focus past your model onto the background, or do you still focus on your model but adjust your shutter to make the background look nice and clear? ….then use your flash to light up your model.
Thank you for the tutorial 🙂
WIND 1 O POWER IS 1 O HDTV
RAIN 1 O POWER MCCHRYSTAL
Nice video ! But I guess we can't overpower the sun and get the same shoot as you do with a simple speedlite, does the AD 200 would work ?
excellent! how did you power your ELC?
what a great video!
that is just great!
