A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

Thanks for this quick walk-thru. So helpful!
thank you very much
Thank goodness for your video, honestly I hated the A5100 for portraits, until I took 2 mins to watch this and changed up the settings. I'm new to the Sony system, I'm so used to shooting with CANON that I hadn't explored the options with my Sony. These settings + Sigma's 30mm 1.4 Contemporary Lens are the perfect combination.
OMG Thank you SOOOOO much for this- literally super helpful!
Tell Me Sony Alpha A58 Setting Please 😊😊
This worked amazing. Thank you
all the focus options dont work properly for me (sony a7s ii and sony lenses)… can only use manual, the rest don't autofocus or do anything….
Why auto whitebalance and not set your own custom balance?
Do you recommend shooting portrait in Aperture Priority or Manual mode? Thanks
is there a way to see the image number, not 82/82 how many shot, but the actual image number to write it down maybe for a portrait session
Thank you for this, Mark! My biggest issues with portraits on the a6500 is the skin tones… they're just not as pleasing as with some other manufacturers, like Fuji. Besides the picture profiles, what else can I do in-camera to improve my skin tones? Thank you!
Nikon D7100 vs Sony A6000 ?
Great video my dude!
are 35 mm 1.8 is a great lens for portrait? im using a6000 btw, nice vids!
Thanks for this info
Thank you very helpful
Why are some of these options not adjustable on my camera/greyed out?
Thanks for the video. I’ve had my A7RII for about a week now but was a little overwhelmed with all of the AF choices.
Very useful having just purchased a sony A7 ii thank you
This is a great guide for a beginner or expert compositor. It starts off with the basics of extraction and how to shoot your subject and takes you all the way through creating wonderful composites for an array of different projects. It helped a great deal with my learning curve for composting pictures. This learning by doing method gave me the confidence to take on more complex projects and was very fun to do. https://twitter.com/arhaanctg1/status/898965859091206144
Which picture profile are you using for photo ????
Whats with the color profile????
What is your favorite "Creative Style" to use when taking portraits/headshots of people? Thanks!
I have two questions:
1. Does Eye AF work, would you recommend it?
2. Why not AF-A instead of AF-S because even a still subject can move
Thank you so, so much! This was really helpful to me.
Do you usually leave DRO/Auto HDR – Off?
Please provide the Camera setting for flower? Like your videos!
Gonna try this when I get home
Not sure if you could help?
I have the Sony a5000 and when shooting timed selfies for blog photos the face keeps blurring.
I put it in single shot af,I'm very new to this so is there anything else I could be doing wrong ? Many thanks
thanks for this video. very helpful. I have a question. Is it possible to connect my a6300 to a laptop for live view during a portrait shoot? if yes, what do I have to do or need for setup? Thanks
Which sony alpha camera are you using here?
What lens do you suggest to use for portraits?
Hi Sir, I am using A7R, use Aperture Priority setting. Why The Shutter Speed always 1/60? How to change that setting? Tx
Im still using the sony a35 and i love it… i used the settings you posted and they came out perfect… thanks so much
Oh im using minolta lenses and these are great
Why would you not choose eye focus?
Dear Mr Galer,
Thanks for your favelous tutorial. You helped me such a lot!
I'm working with the back button.
The only thing I didn't understand (and I tried hard ) is the central button. I put it on Eye AF but nothing happens when I push on it. You said it is verrry helpful? …but how and when?
Please can you help me?
Best regards
Corinne
