Nice vid, if you can focus the lens at where you are standing then flick it to manual focus and do your thing it will come out crisp.

Can you give me some advice? I'm new to DSLR and have just bought an a37. I've done some light art, but for some reason to begin the exposure, the camera needs to focus, so I need to have some light to begin with. Is there a way to override the camera's need to AF or whatever it is doing preventing me from initiating the exposure? (there is a little green dot in the display when it won't start the exposure if that helps)

    thanks!

I wasn't implying pointing the laser at the camera. I use lasers to outline objects.
