How to Photograph Cats in Basement Studio Tips on Camera Settings, Behaviour and Lighting

9 37

Welcome to another Cat pause video. This is a quick demonstration on how to photograph pets indoors – in particular, cats.
I will set up a basement studio and show you some of my photos I will take of my cats.
The goal here is to take professional looking photos and capture a cat’s cuteness and attitude. I will not go in to any of the post production of the photos using Lightroom and Photoshop as that is not the point of this video. I want to show how to you the setup and how to work with the cats to get them to do what you want for your photos.
We will discuss the challenges of your cat’s behaviour how to make them do what you want. We will also review my lighting setup and why I select to use 3 strobes. There are other options available for a low cost and I will talk about those details too. I will take about 25 photos and show you the results. I release there any many options in photography in the way of camera, light and environment setting; this video demonstrates a few of these setup.

Thank you for the video! Nice to get some information from a fellow photographer who is used to cats. I'm going to photograph a couple of cats for a client for the first time on Saturday. I'm used to photographing dogs, but I don't understand much about kittens. I hope things will turn out well.

This was such a cute and informative video. I have been wanting to photograph my cats more often but I was worried about using a flash. Thank you for making this video!
