I was using a Hero3+ black edition, I used 1080p at 30fps taking a photo every 5 seconds.

I have a HERO3+ Black Edition and the feature is NOT on the menu.
I could not find these settings on my Hero 3+ Silver, so I sold it and upgraded to the Hero 3+ Black. I was able to get it to work, but when I downloaded the images they were very grainy and low resolution.

I got my GoPro hero 3 last year December, I notice there is 3d and other settings, is it an update. Please revert.

Just a heads up but this will only work on the Black versions of the Hero. Took me twice to contact GoPro Support. They, or at least the tech who responded to my first email, said only the Hero 4 versions could do it. I had to provide him with the link to this video for him to research and find that only the black versions of the Hero 3 and 3+ have this feature.
This was super helpful. I messed up my settings and was disappointed to find that I was only taking photos. I was on 1080W, not straight 1080p. Thanks for helping me solve the problem!

When I select this option the video and image are both 4:3 format. Is this output normal? Can it be adjust to 16:9? It would be great if it were 16:9 format.
This is not available in the Hero 3+ Silver. So what is the + for? If anything it doesn't mean extra features and since watching some of your videos, the 3+ seems to have less. What a disappointment.
