I just bought a Pentax k70 it has a Astronomy setting on it . Your a good photographer. Good video . I should also mention the sky at night in the Southern hemisphere are full of stars , not so polluted as in the North . I will never forget the night sky in New Zealand. The North star shines magnificently.

i'm using nikon d7200 with sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens. I get a complete white over exposed shoot with the following setting:
f2.8, 26mm, ISO3200, 30" & RAW. I tried both auto WB and direct sunlight but both get the same over exposed shoot. I was taking the shoot at the roadside with street light behind me. Is the above setting only work under dark environment?
