This was extremely helpful I have a Nikon D5100 and I have no idea how to use it, it's the novice there taking pictures but I love photography so I'm trying to do a Star Wars light saber slow down and trying to use shutter speed this helped me out a lot so in low light conditions have a tripod have the light showing and spinning behind my subject and I will give it an awesome blur this is perfect I needed this I think you so much.

joshua cripps i just burned a fire in front of my house and set the shutter speed to 1 sec but what i got was a bright image.. so do i need to buy a neutral filter for it???
