I have been using the new version of Portrait Professional and they have fixed all problems. It is now working perfectly for me and it is truly amazing.

This is a great comparison, thank you Lashah. I just received a response from Portrait Professional. They are not able to fix the problems with PP 11 at this time and are requesting that we uninstall PP 11 and reinstall PP 10. I have no idea how they could have taken so long to have an upgrade and when they do it is full of problems. What were they doing with their performance tests? Totally irresponsible. Stay put and don't purchase it, at least yet.

I have upgraded to Portrait Professional 11 Studio Pro 64 and it has numerous major problems.
They claim that they are working on fixing all these problems in a new version; in "a few days". It is not isolated to me but to an alarming numbers of users.

Thanks for the recommendation! Furthermore, can Portrait Professional Studio run as a plugin in LR4?

Thanks for sharing! Well done! However, what Portrait Professional Software Edition would you recommend for LR 4.2 running on a 64-bit operating system?

Which is better light room or aperture. I like iphoto because of it beingt user friendly. It will take me a while to get around light room. could you advise me on what to purchase

Many many thanks for this review. I just got Perfect Profesional 11 a week ago as an upgrade from Adobe elements 10. I also have LR 4.2 on trial, just to see if I like it because it took me a while to get a grasps of elements. I was a little skeptical about this. Then I read about it in a magazine and got the studio version because I shoot in RAW. I am amaze of how quickly I can edit a portrait with stunning results. I still hate editing though, maybe I should send my photos to you for editing.

Thank you. Very well explained. I have neither but your comparison has helped me to choose!

Using PP to retouch major blemishes often requires allowing the program to use some heavy texture. I find this can be overcome with a quick wipe of the blur tool in the PShop side set at about 25%. I find this is needed in maybe 1 of 4 retouches.

    oh, compliments. well done comparison.

I have both and tend to do faces with PP while using "effects" with PPS. PP is most certainly effective & quicker. On your PP comment (PP saves as a .jpg only). PP does offer the choice of saving a as .tiff. I routinely do this which does not compress and draw a jpg from my tiff in PS if it's going to lab. I don't see where losing the .psd part is a loss at all. I you care to complete the image in PP to your opinion of perfect, so why do I need to revisit a face retouch via a HUGE .psd?
