I am a photographer . I'm looking for a solution to clone my images into impasto/impressionist paintings. my current workflow consists of photoshop/topaz simplify/ then import into painter. I'm looking for a solution that provides artistic texture and will reproduce on a printed canvas. My ultimate goal is to reproduce a photo…print it on canvas then add impasto texture the my printed image. any suggestion? my email is rsmithdigital88@gmail.com Regards. Russell Smith

This is one of my favorite tutorials and I keep referring to your techniques as they are perfect for abstract artwork. Thanks for these clearly explained tutorials Aaron, they help more than I can describe and for those who cannot afford to pay for tutorials they are invaluable. I've been learning Painter since version IX but haven't had undivided attention for it. Version to version brought new things to learn or bugs to solve within the software. Finally with 2017 I feel more comfortable yet now and then run across issues with corrupted saved palettes, missing panels, or workspaces which I've sought help for or gave up and started over on. Between trying to learn and solve bugs it's been a complicated ride so I needed extra help along the way. You've mentioned workarounds for issues I hadn't discovered yet, so thanks for bringing so much to other Painter users.

Hi Aaron, I like your tutorials a lot. I followed your mountains tutorial using CP 2017, I think your tutorial was in 2012. I did not get the same results but still it looked reasonably ok for me as a beginner. I am wondering if you have mountains at sunrise tutorial.

Wow!  I never thought I would be interested in cloning.  But I'm going to have to reassess.  I'm doing a lot of photography and this is a great way to enhance one's photos!  Thanks for the great video, Aaron.

Thanks, Aaron. I had a lot of skepticism and confusion for these new tools. You brought them around to how they'd work on clone photos. Still have to adjust my Painter thinking to keep track of new interactions between brush, paper, flow maps and now textures and stencil brush tips. Oy. Another opening my bank account to get updated this year.
