How-to Make a Professional Photo Studio in Your Garage
Learn How-to Make a Professional Photo Studio in this video presented by Colorado Artisan Mitchell Dillman as he sets up to photograph his latest collection of Modern Rustic Log Furniture.
Watch as Mitch demonstrates each step of the process of transforming any garage into a professional photo studio using nothing more than a 10×20 white vinyl backdrop and some florescent shop lights.
Then pay close attention as Mitchell begins the very first photo shoot of “the Cabin Collection” which can also be ordered online at
Nice movie. However you should take instructions from Woodprix website if you want to learn how to make it easily.
Please rename this video… Wtf
You did a great job of setting up the backdrop but, the end result and your photography skills stink. You really need to learn lighting if you want good results. If you want to learn how to set up a professional studio then you need to go and watch Karl Taylor on youtube. Sorry for being so brash but we as photographers spend many years perfecting our craft and for you to say that this is a professional studio is idiotic. If you want professional results then, hire a professional photographer and remember, you get what you pay for.
the furniture are amazing but the photographic idea is a spended time, is not work is not profetional is not a good results, is a spending resources money and time, not pro please forgive me for my hard words
Great video! How much do those backdrops cost?
I LOVE your furniture! Fantastic!!
Firman, pretty sure he said it was 10 x 20 professional photography backdrop in white.
I'm going to try this just a new drop cloth. I don't think I'd want white even though there is a purpose for it. I just need a clean, neat place to take photos of the furniture I paint.
By the way, I love your wood work, Mitchell!!
thank You nickynunn!
nice one mate
i needed a large single piece without seams…the 10×20 backdrop was the largest i could find. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your project.
Why didn't you use white fabrics? Cost much less. I building part of my garage for the same purpose. Nonetheless, it's crude but effective. Cheers!
that's a 10×20 foot vinyl backdrop, ordered it online for around a hundred bucks…thanks for watching!
What kind of material do you use for the white backdrop?
Thank You…thank you for watching!
You, sir, are awesome.. Thanks for this simple video!
Haha you are rigth, not bad and again nice initiative and thank YOU for making the video.
thank you Alejandro…i just wanted to show others how-to save money while getting some quality images of our log furniture…did you see the images? not too bad for an old wood butcher, ehh? =) Thanks for watching…
The porpose of having a white backround is to create infinity appereance…you can not have it shrank or dirty, and when taking your pictures you should try not to capture whats behind the white backround. You should be able to control ligth and shadows too, just saying. Anyway you made this video to help people, that is good, just get a bit more professional Nice initiative.
yep, just doing what we can with what we have! thanks for watching =)
Now this is what i call professionalism! Working with what you got.
Thanks Michael…this is called doing what you can with what you have! =)
…and you betcha, i will try the white cotton diffuser next time!
I have to admit I laughed when I saw you break out the duct tape, but it seems to have worked pretty good. I would get a few yards of white cotton about thick as t-shirt material from a fabric store, and use it to diffuse the lighting.
yep, you can pick up one of these up Online at backdropoutlet[dot]com for around a hundred bucks…Thank You for watching!
Good day
Very good job on the Photography white backdrop setup. What company did you use for your white backdrop material. I like the length and width and want to get that for my company.
Thanks in advance

thank you for watching!
Great video. Thanks for your help.
yep, you said it…the backdrop works great but more lighting is needed. I give those floodlights a try. Thanks!
good video but i think more lighting will be even better, you can use floodlights which are cheaper than studio lights and they are strong
