    The photo of the blond girl at 50:59 always captivated me. Bill Allard registered the migration of Brazilian Southern peasants into the Amazon jungle. In the house of a family a father boasted about his origins that "that their forebearers had strong blood, that they were Germans and they were accustomed to opening new lands". And Bill Allard concluded "the father says they have strong blood, but the little girl in the window has malaria".

    Working for NG as a snapper means you disappear. You must shoot NG style or you don't shoot for NG.

    Steve McCurry (at 26 mins in) dates this documentary from 1995. (Seeing the gorgeous colour images featured makes you mourn all the more the passing of the irreplaceable Kodachrome film stock which was used to create most of these amazing photographs.)
