How to attach a camera to a tripod – Photo Tutorial 101 Take Control of your Camera – Episode 7
In this video, I show how to attach a camera to a tripod. This works with most DSLR, point&shoot and even most video cameras which have a tripod mount. The 1/4″-20 thread is the current standard for most equipment, though for some heavier equipment (weighting 50lbs and costing more than a sports car) they sometimes use a larger standard.

The little button on the side of the screw keeps getting in the way of connecting a camera or phone adapter. I have to manually press it down as I’m turning the camera or mount to screw in place.
How do I fix that? The button goes up and down

The plate can no longer attach to mine. Nothing seems to have broken off but no matter how i position the plate or camera. It falls off or is just way too loose. What the fuck happened?
