This is one of Australia’s biggest photo competitions, with a total prize pool worth over $150,000, including monthly winners and the ultimate prize of a luxury photo safari in Africa

LEARN & GROW
The Light Awards is a place for you to develop your skills as a photographic storyteller – in either the student or open category. All you need is a Canon camera and a passion for photography. Each month a Canon Masters will set a brief, select their top 3 entries in each category, review each winning image and give feedback to help you and the community grow as photographers. There are two categories you can enter into:

Student is open to anyone aged between 13 and 25 and enrolled in full time study. We want to help you get on your way to a career in photography.

Open is for anyone who has a passion for capturing images and want to grow your skills, we’ll help you develop as a photographer.
