How To Successfully Sell Pictures at Art Festivals and Fairs
In this lecture, Deborah Gilbert discusses both sides of the coin to help you figure out if art fairs are for you, and if they are, how to make them work for you. Some topics include how to apply effectively, how to present your work, and how to create a display.

Best description I have seen on the web, thanks a lot.
Very helpful information. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much. Extremely relevant. I know it's an old video, but I got so much from it. Thanks again!
very good indeed
Great lecture. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for this! Now, when & where are you teaching a more in-depth version How to interview & work with the media? Please
This was so very helpful and entertaining! Thanks
Endlessly rambles.
This was the most informative video I have ever watched. Terrific!!! Deborah Gilbert is a fantastic presenter. Thank you!!!
Good information and just to add, check out the lists of fairs and festivals you can participate in the USA https://tinyurl.com/ycmltns8
Great video. I'm about to do my first Art festival. I have those grids, and I heard you mention fabric covers that go over them. Where can I purchase those? I haven't been able to find them. Thank you!
way to insult people "crafter is a derogatory word that means someone who crochets while watching soap operas" I'm literally a person who crochets while watching tv and my work sells just fine :/
Great info and very helpful. Thank you!
Wait… What's wrong with Florida?
Great video on art business and doing art shows
It took me 2 days off and on to see the entire contents of this video, but worth every minute of it. While I am successful at art shows, this video has opened my eyes to things I can do to make my works even more presentable. After all, who doesn't want to sell more? The first thing I'm going to do is buy a 10X10 Trimline canopy with walls to hang my prints and an awning to keep the sun out. I just love the way the prints look on a wall instead of hanging them off of cattle panels. Right now I use a cheap canopy that's on it's last leg.
Your advice on how to handle yourself as well as the public was also very informative. I can't for the life of me understand why some individuals who claim they didn't like the video, watch it and then take the time to write a negative comment. If I don't like something, I don't put a whole lot of time into it. Great job, Deborah! Keep up the good work and let us know if there are other videos that you've done that are related to that topic. Carlos in North Padre Island
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VIDEO!
I came across this video totally by accident. Deborah, this was really informative you gave soem really good ifo with loads of useful tips, gained from experience, which makes them more creditable. I am seriously thinking about
selling my artwork at art fairs and this has really been a great help.
This video is not nearly up B+H's usual standard
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is a great video! Very good and useful info. I am thinking about putting my artwork in some art fairs and this video gives a lot of helpful hints from direct experience someone who has "been there and done that"!
Please let me know if prints of some of my originals would have any chance of selling. Your opinion would be valued.

Thank you.

Thanks, B&H. I have already taken so many action items! She mentioned the mat cutting machine. From there I began researching and shopping. Then I began researching paper, techniques, etc.
I think I am going to look for her in the city.
Very informative and you presented some good info on display, and problems that can arise. I am an amateur photographer that really appreciates all the good advice. Thanks.
I am a Louisiana festival artist who buys all of his 8×10", 11×14" and 13×19" art print paper from B&H in the last 3 years, really great thick, bright white paper. Their reasonable print paper prices beat all the others, and I have purchased from them all.
The presenter has a very nice, easy going style. Most of the video, is rambling, anecdotal stories about her personal experiences. There is approximately 15-20 minutes of good, useable information.
if any art selling vendors would like to buy some of mine, or anyone i have art videos on my page if like
THANK YOU, DEBORAH! I'm taking notes! 😊
Thanks for the great info.
This is a great video. Very informative. Great speaker. How 28 people could vote this down is beyond me…..
None of this applies to me – lol
Cannot an intelligent mind pause momentarily to formulate the complete sentence instead of filling the quiet space with….AND…..AHHHHHH…….!
Packed full of great tips.
Thank you so much Deborah Gilbert for sharing such important action steps to take. Very appreciative. Respect to B & H for posting with the online community.
The two guys on the right are Twins?
Wish I had seen this sooner…I really love the idea of taking the show on the road. Such a helpful video.
What a joke,no new info, does Deborah get paid for this gibberish!!!!!!!!!
This is great!
How can I log in, to become a member and sell my pictures of people and the city of Guanajuato, Mexico? I have over 500.
even though I'm an Artist not a Photographer, I found this really helpful.
Just one comment. Do you put holes in your cloth sheets when hanging? Do they not get ratty after awhile?
Thanks for such an informative lecture! Had I watched this before my first show, I wouldn't have lost $600!
Quite welcome. Thank you for watching.
What an enlightened presentation! Thank you to B&H for bringing this wisdom to a larger audience and thank you to Deborah Gilbert for sharing your advice, experiences and good cheer with us all. I'm looking to get into selling my work at fairs and this video is rich with resources and professional tips. I feel like I just stumbled on a pot of gold! 😀
I may never sell at a fair but this presenter had information that would apply to all. Thank you and please find a way to bring her back.
Brilliant, thank you! I'm preparing to show photos at my first "fair", a small one-day venture. Sticking my toe in the water, mainly seeing what interest is out there and getting the name out. Wonderful advice here for a beginner, thank you for posting!
